This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your personal information in accordance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), applicable provincial privacy legislation, and where applicable, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

By using Plannerborn’s website, community, or services, you consent to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.


1. INFORMATION WE COLLECT

1.1 Information You Provide Directly

We collect personal information you voluntarily provide when you:

a) Register for our free community

  • Name or nickname (first name only required)
  • Email address
  • Province of residence
  • Age range (optional)

b) Book a consultation

  • Full name
  • Email address
  • Phone number
  • Financial information you choose to share in pre-session intake forms

c) Become an Ambassador

  • Full legal name
  • Email address
  • Phone number
  • Mailing address (for T4A purposes)
  • Social Insurance Number (SIN) if earnings exceed $500 CAD in a calendar year

d) Enrol in The Path

  • Full name
  • Email address
  • Payment information (processed by Stripe — we do not store card details)
  • Province of residence

e) Contact us directly

  • Name and email address
  • Contents of your message

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

When you visit plannerborn.ca we automatically collect:

a) Device information — browser type, operating system, device type

b) Usage data — pages visited, time spent, links clicked, referring URL

c) IP address — used to determine approximate geographic location (province level)

1.3 Information From Third Parties

We may receive information from:

a) Stripe — payment confirmation and transaction data

b) Google Analytics — aggregated website traffic data

c) WhatsApp — community membership and engagement data subject to WhatsApp’s own privacy policy

d) Affiliate platforms (Impact.com) — referral tracking data for Ambassador commission calculations


2. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

We use your personal information to:

a) Provide and manage your community membership and programme access

b) Process payments and issue receipts

c) Deliver consultation services

d) Calculate and process Ambassador referral commissions

e) Send programme updates, lesson content, and community announcements

f) Issue T4A tax slips to Ambassadors earning $500 or more annually as required by the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA)

g) Improve our website and services through analytics

h) Respond to your enquiries and support requests

i) Comply with legal obligations including CRA reporting requirements

j) Enforce our Terms and Conditions

We do NOT use your information to:

  • Sell to third-party marketers
  • Build advertising profiles
  • Share with financial product companies without your consent
  • Make automated decisions that significantly affect you

3. LEGAL BASIS FOR PROCESSING

Under PIPEDA and applicable Canadian privacy law, we process your personal information on the following bases:

a) Consent — you have given clear consent for us to process your information for a specific purpose

b) Contract — processing is necessary to fulfil our contract with you (programme delivery, consultation, Ambassador payments)

c) Legal obligation — processing is necessary to comply with Canadian law (CRA reporting, T4A issuance)

d) Legitimate interests — processing is necessary for our legitimate business interests (website security, fraud prevention, service improvement) where these do not override your privacy rights


4. HOW WE SHARE YOUR INFORMATION

We do not sell your personal information. We share your information only in the following circumstances:

4.1 Service Providers

We share information with trusted service providers who assist us in operating our business:

  • Stripe — payment processing
  • Google Analytics — website analytics
  • WhatsApp/Meta — community platform
  • Email service provider — programme communications
  • Booking platform — consultation scheduling

All service providers are contractually required to protect your information and use it only for the services they provide to us.

4.2 Affiliate Partners

Ambassador referral tracking data (clicks and conversions associated with your referral code) is shared with affiliate platforms including Impact.com solely for commission calculation purposes. No personally identifiable information beyond your referral code is shared.

4.3 Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information when required by law, including:

  • CRA reporting obligations (T4A slips for Ambassadors)
  • Response to lawful court orders or government requests
  • Protection of our legal rights

4.4 Business Transfer

In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of Plannerborn’s assets, your information may be transferred to the acquiring entity. You will be notified of any such transfer and your choices regarding your information.

6.2 Correction

Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal information.

6.3 Withdrawal of Consent

Withdraw your consent to our processing of your personal information at any time — subject to legal and contractual restrictions. Note that withdrawal of consent may affect our ability to provide services to you.

6.4 Deletion

Request deletion of your personal information where we no longer have a legal basis to retain it. Note that certain information (Ambassador payment records, consultation records) must be retained for CRA compliance regardless of deletion requests.

9. CHILDREN’S PRIVACY

Plannerborn’s services are intended for individuals 16 years of age and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16 without verifiable parental consent.

If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child under 16, please contact us immediately at [email protected] and we will delete the information promptly.

Note: The Path licensing programme requires members to meet minimum age requirements set by provincial regulators for licensing eligibility (typically 18 years of age).


10. INTERNATIONAL DATA TRANSFERS

Some of our service providers (including Google and Stripe) may process your data outside of Canada. Where this occurs, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place consistent with PIPEDA requirements.

WhatsApp/Meta processes data in accordance with their own privacy policy, which may involve data processing in the United States and other jurisdictions.


11. CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. Material changes will be communicated to registered members via email with 30 days notice before taking effect.

The date at the top of this policy indicates when it was last updated. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
