INTRODUCTION

Welcome to Plannerborn. These Terms and Conditions govern your use of our website located at plannerborn.ca, our WhatsApp community, and all related services, programmes, and content offered by Plannerborn (“we,” “us,” “our”).

By accessing or using any part of Plannerborn — including our website, community, consultation services, Ambassador programme, or The Path licensing preparation programme — you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions in their entirety.

If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use our services.

Plannerborn is operated in Canada and these terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein.


1. WHO WE ARE

Plannerborn is a Canadian financial education community that provides:

a) Free financial literacy education through our community platform

b) Personal financial consultation services with a Certified Financial Planner

c) The Ambassador Programme — a referral partnership programme for members

d) The Path — a structured programme preparing members for Canadian financial services licensing examinations

Plannerborn is not a registered investment adviser, portfolio manager, insurance company, or exempt market dealer. We provide financial education and mentorship only. Nothing on this website or within our community constitutes personalised financial, investment, tax, insurance, or legal advice unless explicitly provided through a paid consultation service with our Certified Financial Planner.


2. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY AND COPYRIGHT

2.1 Ownership

All content published by Plannerborn — including but not limited to website text, course materials, lesson content, videos, graphics, logos, programme frameworks, the Plannerborn philosophy, the seven principles, community guidelines, Instagram content, WhatsApp content, PDF documents, and all other materials — is the exclusive intellectual property of Plannerborn and is protected under the Canadian Copyright Act, R.S.C. 1985, c. C-42, and applicable international copyright treaties.

2.2 Prohibited Uses

You may NOT, without prior written permission from Plannerborn:

a) Reproduce, copy, duplicate, or republish any Plannerborn content in whole or in part

b) Sell, resell, or commercially exploit any Plannerborn content or materials

c) Create derivative works based on Plannerborn content, frameworks, curricula, or programme structures

d) Use Plannerborn’s name, logo, taglines, or brand elements in any way that implies affiliation or endorsement without written permission

e) Represent Plannerborn’s concepts, frameworks, or philosophy as your own original work

f) Screen-record, download, or distribute any paid programme content including The Path curriculum

g) Share your login credentials or programme access with any third party

2.3 Permitted Uses

You MAY:

a) Share links to Plannerborn’s public website pages

b) Quote brief excerpts (not exceeding 50 words) with clear attribution to Plannerborn and a link to the original source

c) Share Plannerborn’s Instagram content using the platform’s native sharing features with attribution intact

d) Reference Plannerborn’s publicly stated philosophy in your own words with attribution

2.4 Trademark

The name “Plannerborn,” the Plannerborn logo, and the tagline “Master your money. Then guide others.” are trademarks of Plannerborn. Unauthorised use of these marks is strictly prohibited.

2.5 Copyright Infringement

If you believe any content on our platform infringes your copyright, please contact us at: [email protected]

Include: your contact information, a description of the copyrighted work, the location of the infringing material, and a statement that you have a good faith belief that the use is not authorised.


3. COMMUNITY RULES

3.1 Free Community Standards

All members of the Plannerborn WhatsApp community agree to the following:

a) No real names or personal financial information to be shared in community discussions. All questions must be framed as general scenarios.

b) No personal financial advice to be given to other members. Members may share concepts, frameworks, and educational information only.

c) No promotion of competing financial education services, products, or communities without prior written permission.

d) No spam, unsolicited promotion, or recruitment of members for external opportunities.

e) No sharing of Plannerborn’s paid content, course materials, or proprietary frameworks with non-members.

f) Respectful communication at all times. Harassment, discrimination, or abusive behaviour of any kind will result in immediate removal.

3.2 Consequences of Violation

Plannerborn reserves the right to remove any member from the community — with or without warning — for violation of these community rules. No refund will be issued for paid programme access revoked due to rule violations.


4. FINANCIAL EDUCATION DISCLAIMER

4.1 Not Financial Advice

All content provided by Plannerborn — including website content, community discussions, social media posts, course materials, and all programme content — is for educational and informational purposes only.

Nothing provided by Plannerborn constitutes:

  • Personalised investment advice
  • Tax advice for legal or filing purposes
  • Insurance advice or recommendations
  • Securities dealing or trading advice
  • Legal advice of any kind

4.2 No Guaranteed Outcomes

Plannerborn does not guarantee any financial outcomes, investment returns, tax savings, income levels, or career results from the use of our educational content or programmes.

All financial decisions carry risk. Past performance of any investment strategy, product, or approach discussed in Plannerborn content does not guarantee future results.

4.3 Consult a Licensed Professional

Always consult a licensed financial professional — including a registered investment adviser, insurance agent, tax specialist, or legal adviser — before making any financial decision based on information encountered through Plannerborn.

4.4 Canadian Context

All financial information provided by Plannerborn is based on Canadian tax law, Canadian financial regulations, and Canadian financial products as understood at the time of publication. Tax laws and regulations change frequently. Verify all information with current CRA guidelines and a licensed professional before acting.


5. CONSULTATION SERVICES

5.1 Nature of Consultations

Personal consultation sessions with Plannerborn’s Certified Financial Planner are educational in nature and provide general financial planning guidance based on information you provide.

Consultations do not constitute:

  • Registered investment advice
  • A formal financial plan as defined by FP Canada standards
  • Tax filing advice
  • Legal advice

5.2 Booking and Cancellation

a) Sessions must be booked and paid for in advance through our website.

b) Cancellations made more than 24 hours before the scheduled session will receive a full refund.

c) Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the scheduled session are non-refundable.

d) No-shows are non-refundable.

e) Plannerborn reserves the right to reschedule sessions with 24 hours notice. If we cancel, a full refund will be issued.

5.3 Confidentiality

All information shared during consultation sessions is treated as confidential. Plannerborn will not share your personal financial information with third parties except as required by law.


6. AMBASSADOR PROGRAMME

6.1 Programme Nature

The Plannerborn Ambassador Programme is a referral arrangement under which Ambassadors introduce prospective clients to vetted financial partners and tools in exchange for referral fees.

6.2 Ambassador Obligations

All Ambassadors agree to:

a) Disclose their referral relationship in every communication where a referral link or code is shared. Required disclosure: “This is my referral link. I earn a commission if you sign up. I personally use this and recommend it.”

b) Only refer products and tools they have personally used and genuinely recommend.

c) Never make representations about guaranteed returns, outcomes, or performance of any referred product.

d) Comply with all applicable Canadian advertising and disclosure laws including Competition Act requirements.

e) Never provide financial, investment, insurance, or securities advice in connection with any referral.

f) Not recruit other members into the Ambassador programme through any form of incentivised recruitment.

6.3 Not a Multi-Level Marketing Scheme

The Plannerborn Ambassador Programme is not a multi-level marketing (MLM) scheme. Ambassadors earn income solely from referrals to third-party products and services — not from recruiting other Ambassadors. There are no downlines, recruitment bonuses, or hierarchical commission structures.

6.4 Commission and Payments

a) Commission rates are set by individual partner agreements and disclosed to Ambassadors upon activation.

b) Payouts are made monthly by the 5th business day of the following month via e-transfer.

c) A minimum payout threshold of $25 applies. Balances below this amount carry forward to the following month.

d) Ambassadors are responsible for reporting all referral income to the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA). Referral income constitutes self-employment income for tax purposes. Plannerborn will issue a T4A slip to any Ambassador earning $500 or more in a calendar year.

e) Plannerborn reserves the right to modify commission rates with 30 days written notice.

6.5 Revocation

Ambassador status may be revoked immediately and without refund if the Ambassador:

  • Violates disclosure requirements
  • Refers products they have not used
  • Provides financial advice in connection with referrals
  • Violates any applicable law
  • Engages in deceptive marketing

7. THE PATH PROGRAMME

7.1 Programme Nature

The Path is a mentorship and examination preparation programme that assists members in preparing for Canadian financial services licensing examinations including the Life Licence Qualification Programme (LLQP), the Exempt Market Products Exam (EMPE), and the Certified Financial Planner designation pathway.

7.2 Not a Licensing Authority

Plannerborn is not a registered educational institution, exam provider, or licensing authority. The Path provides mentorship and preparation only. Licensing examinations are administered by official Canadian regulatory bodies including:

  • LLQP: Provincial insurance regulators through approved exam providers
  • EMPE: The Canadian Securities Institute (CSI)
  • Certified Financial Planner: FP Canada

Passing examinations and obtaining licences depends on individual effort, exam performance, and meeting all regulatory requirements which vary by province. Plannerborn makes no guarantee of examination success or licence obtainment.

7.3 Exam Fees

Examination fees payable to official exam providers are not included in The Path tuition and are the sole responsibility of the member.

7.4 Refund Policy

a) A 14-day satisfaction guarantee applies to The Path full bundle.

b) To qualify for a refund, members must: request a refund within 14 days of enrolment AND have completed less than 20% of the curriculum.

c) Refunds will be processed within 10 business days of approval.

d) Individual stage purchases are non-refundable after curriculum access is granted.

e) No refund is available where programme access has been revoked due to terms violation.

7.5 Curriculum Access

a) Enrolment in The Path grants lifetime access to curriculum materials as they exist at the time of enrolment and as updated.

b) Plannerborn reserves the right to modify curriculum content to reflect regulatory changes or programme improvements.

c) Access is personal and non-transferable.


8. PAYMENTS AND PRICING

8.1 Currency

All prices are in Canadian dollars (CAD) unless otherwise stated.

8.2 Payment Processing

Payments are processed securely through Stripe. Plannerborn does not store your credit card information.

8.3 GST/HST

Applicable GST/HST will be added to all purchases in accordance with Canadian tax law. Your tax receipt will reflect the applicable rate for your province of residence.

8.4 Pricing Changes

Plannerborn reserves the right to change pricing at any time. Promotional pricing applies only for the period stated and cannot be applied retroactively.


9. AFFILIATE AND REFERRAL DISCLOSURES

Plannerborn participates in affiliate and referral programmes. We may earn commissions when you purchase products or services through links provided on our website, in our community, or through our Ambassador members.

All affiliate relationships are disclosed in accordance with Canadian Competition Act requirements and FTC guidelines where applicable.

Plannerborn only recommends products and services that have been personally evaluated by our team. Commission arrangements do not influence our editorial recommendations. Our standard is to only refer what we personally use and genuinely recommend.


10. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable Canadian law, Plannerborn and its founders, officers, employees, and contractors shall not be liable for:

a) Any financial loss arising from decisions made based on Plannerborn educational content

b) Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages

c) Any loss of data, income, or opportunity arising from use of our services

d) Any third-party content, products, or services recommended or linked to by Plannerborn

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from use of Plannerborn services shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.


11. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS

Plannerborn reserves the right to modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email to registered members with 30 days notice. Continued use of Plannerborn services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.


12. GOVERNING LAW AND DISPUTES

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of Plannerborn services shall be resolved through binding arbitration in Ontario, Canada, in accordance with the Arbitration Act, 1991 (Ontario), before resorting to litigation.
